Mark Maynard is committed to empowering BIPOC and at-risk youth to become productive members of society. A proud BIPOC man, he serves his community with unwavering dedication and grace, using sport as a powerful tool to engage and mentor youth. With 30 years of grassroots basketball coaching experience for kids aged 5-18, Mark has built trust and respect while working as a Youth Outreach worker for the City of Vaughan, using basketball to guide marginalized youth toward wise life choices.

Mark has lived and worked in both Canada and the United States. His North American work experience as a Project Manager for Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) has given him a dynamic sensibility of commerce in international terms and has formed his understanding of, and desire to be a part of the global market. Mark seamlessly transitioned his skillset from his work as a Project Manager in the financial sector to a Talent Manager in the music industry. He traveled with his clients for over 10 years for radio, television, live shows, and conferences which has afforded him countless opportunities to network with key individuals across several industries. He has established important relationships with celebrities, athletes, industry insiders and executives.

In his new role as Executive Director for Camda Sports Foundation Canada Mark is now leaning on all the skills he has acquired from his work experience in differing careers. Mark’s passion to help his community and the broader community at large drives him. His desire to improve the lives of young people is infectious. Camda has moved into its permanent home at Durham Sportsplex in Oshawa. With a new home comes the opportunity to create new opportunities to affect change. The future looks very promising for Camda.

Clive Daniel, Vice Chair/Director of Operations for Camda Sports Foundation Canada, is dedicated to supporting BIPOC and at-risk youth, drawing from his own upbringing in the Cataraqui housing complex in Scarborough. With the help of mentors who steered him away from street life, Clive is now paying it forward through sports and mentorship. A seasoned basketball coach, he has worked at all levels, and has helped numerous athletes secure NCAA scholarships.

Clive’s authenticity, honed through guiding his son, Shakur Daniel, who entered the 2023 NBA draft, resonates with youth. Having lived in Canada, the UK, and the U.S. has given Clive a unique life perspective. Connecting with people is Clive’s superpower. He has an uncanny ability to make people laugh and he has mastered the art of deescalating tense situations. His demeanor is perfect for dealing with marginalized at-risk youth. He makes them feel heard and respected.

Clive spent 10 years working for the largest telecommunications company in Canada. Although he held many positions the one which he felt he made the most impact is when was in the training department. He mastered his ability to teach and convey messaging of some very intricate processes and technology. Clive uses those same skills today in communicating with youth. In his new role as Vice Chair/Director of Operations for Camda Sports Foundation Canada Clive is harnessing his people skills and utilizing them to help BIPOC youth. While some may look at these youths as troublemakers, criminals or thugs, Clive sees them for what they are - people. His desire is to help them see their value and worth and then shine that outwardly. He is passionate about helping BIPOC youth and Camda allows him to fulfill his goals.
